Did you know? Blood loss of just 2-3 pints (about 40% of your blood) can cause shock and become life-threatening.
💡 LIFE-SAVING TIP: If direct pressure isn't stopping the bleeding, pack the wound with gauze or clean cloth. Push it deep into the wound and apply pressure on top.
Wound packing can control bleeding when pressure alone isn't enough.
When seconds count, YOU can be the difference.

Tourniquet Tuesday Tip – STOP THE BLEED® Month

When using a tourniquet, tighten until the bleeding STOPS — not just until it hurts.
A properly applied tourniquet will be uncomfortable, but it must fully stop the blood flow to be effective.

✅ Apply 2–3 inches above the wound (never over a joint)
✅ Note the time of application
✅ Leave it in place — do not remove or loosen it
