Turn Center Turn Center is a nonprofit children's rehabilitation center providing OT, PT, & Speech Therapy. Turn Center a 501(c)(3) organization.

Turn Center was formally branded in 2010, in the merger of two long-standing Texas Panhandle non-profits: Children's Rehabilitation Center (founded 1947) and Amarillo Speech, Hearing, and Language Center (founded 1959). Turn Center is the only private, non-profit organization in the Texas Panhandle dedicated to providing occupational, physical, and speech/feeding therapies to children aged 0 to 21. Turn Center is accredited by Better Business Bureau and holds a GuideStar Platinum-level ranking, demonstrating our dedication to transparency in programs, finances, and governance to our clients, donors, and community.

At Turn Center, we meet kids and teens wherever they are on their journey. Sometimes that means cheering on a baby’s first steps, and sometimes it means helping a senior take them again.

Addie’s strength through multiple surgeries and months of therapy has inspired all of us. She works hard in every session to rebuild balance, strength, and flexibility so she can return to the things she loves, especially showing her pigs.

It’s time to talk about Kayla, our Physical Therapy lead, who does so much to support her team! 💙💪🏻

“What I love about working at Turn Center is the team framework - learning from and collaborating with multiple disciplines,” she said.

Her favorite treatment approach for little movers is an obstacle course. “I have seen great progress made with kiddos from crawlers to runners, and they don’t see it as ‘work’ but a fun little adventure!”

“One of my favorite activities to recommend is multi-sensory writing,” she said. “Learning to write doesn’t have to be limited to pencil and paper! Make learning playful by using chalk on the sidewalk, water and paintbrushes on the fence, or sketching through shaving cream. Let those little hands explore by engaging all of our senses!” 🎨🖍️
