“My favorite tools are play-doh and resistance putty because they encourage kids to use their imagination while engaging both hands,” Madyson said. “There are so many different ways to use them and they’re highly motivating for kids.” 💙

Hey, Audra! Audra is part of our school OT team, and her love of animals and all things outdoors gives her a unique perspective to treating kids. ☀️

“Play outside, dig in the dirt!” Audra encourages. “Play with rocks or sand - any activity to explore different textures. Write letters and numbers in the sand or with chalk. Learning tactically helps engrain learning, and the child enjoys it.” 💙

team members and students were proud to support Turn Center at the annual Celebration of Hope gala last month. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Health Professions, are proud volunteers for Kids Inclusion at Turn Center; this unique program gives children with and without disabilities a chance to play and compete in different sports like softball, basketball and soccer.

Turn Center is the only non-profit in the region that provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services in a centralized, comprehensive therapeutic facility for children of all ages.

Say hello to Beki! Beki is a calm and nurturing Speech Therapist who loves collaborating her with team to produce the best outcomes for her patients. 💙

“Nothing is more precious than seeing kids grow and learn and start communicating - some even for the first time!” Beki said.

“My favorite activity is using a sensory box full of themed toys for the season. It can be filled with rice, beans, or kinetic sand. The children love digging through the sensory box and talking about what they find. This is great for practicing communication skills, talking about vocabulary, and even holidays or seasons that are coming up.” 🌸🌿

Say hi to Cyd! After nearly three decades supporting local kids, and she wouldn’t spend her days anywhere else! 💙

“Some of my favorite things to recommend to parents are activities that are simple but can help build the small muscles of the hand, wrist, and fingers,” she said. “Coloring, tearing paper, using a hole punch to create designs, using tongs to pick up small items, and even peeling up stickers!” 🖍️
