This Sunday 03/29/26 from 2:00-4:00 pm: Tending the movement, tending ourselves. This workshop is created for organizers, activists, and community builders. In a time of great need and great challenges, those who are committed to helping others often find themselves stretched beyond their limits.

During our time together, we will explore perspectives and strategies to manage burnout, trust the collective, and keep our inner and outer work sustainable for the long haul in the fight for social justice.

Companion zine included.

$5 to $10 suggested donation.

No one turned away for lack of funds.

ISO a person who is handy and able to put some ceiling tiles in (have several extra) along with placing a few tiles that have come loose. We’re a nonprofit under fiscal sponsorship with the High Plains Institute of Arts & Ecology, so your services would be tax deductible.

We’re a community center serving the LGBTQIA+ population in Amarillo, TX who currently operates on private funding and donations so we’re hoping for a volunteer with this skillset. We are working on grant funding to hire future staff and create programs to expand our services!

Please message or call/text 806-600-4587 if you’re able to help! 🖤🌈

What a fantastic day with and . The entire day was buzzing with excitement and strong, caring people who were all helping each other with legal aid, voter registration, sound baths, feeding others, manicures, and therapy services. My partner and all of the volunteers made it so much smoother and we had such a good flow going.

We’re looking forward to having the back in June of 2027 where they will pop back in and offer free legal services for our community. We might even try to get some puppy yoga going when they return 🐶🖤

We’ve got so much activity up at the center today! The Caravan of Hope is here, voter registration booths, a food truck, a table full of makeup and manicure items, and sound therapy. I can hardly keep my head from spinning with all of the cool stuff we have going on. We will also still be having the food distribution from 5-8 this evening. Swing on by, get some legal aid or fry bread and a box of kitchen staples. We’re so thankful that our little community has come together to make sure that people have the resources that they need. 🖤

If you find yourself at the center, check out the library donated by Boycott Amarillo! Take a book, give a book, or do both. From BA:

🚨Calling All Lefties🚨

The Conquest of Books🏴

We realized leftist literature wasn’t available or even accessible in Amarillo.

We aim to create small radical pocket libraries/zine depots in safe places around town that operate as beacons for progressive thought.

With permission and some work from our organizing team we were able to start a small bookshelf at the San Jacinto Community Center for the community to take or add books from. All books are free of charge.

This operates as our first conquest!

As you can see our shelf is in need of more radical literature!

We are working on a wish list but in the meantime, if you’d like to support the conquest you can add or take a book from this shelf when you are at the community center.

If you’d like to donate a bookshelf, books, or maybe you just want your own radical pocket library in your place of business consider reaching out!

If you have zines or other radical resources you are more than welcome to drop them off neatly on one of the shelves.

Happy Reading!
