Amarillo, Texas. Our Fraternity:
The Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity develops leaders to advance the profession of pharmacy. Phi Delta Chi, a lifelong experience, promotes scholastic, professional, and social growth in its Brothers. We strive to provide quality services to our patients, thereby advancing public health and strengthening ourselves as health professionals. Our School:
The Texas Legislature established the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Pharmacy in 1993 to serve the growing need for pharmacists in Texas and the Amarillo area. The school officially opened in Amarillo in August of 1996, and has since expanded to include campuses in Lubbock (1998), Dallas (1999), and Abilene (2007). Our Chapter:
The history of the Beta Rho chapter began with a poker game when a group of students felt there needed to be a new fraternity on campus. The founders wanted a small, close-knit group of brothers focused around three tenants: Academics, Social, and Professionalism. The Beta Rho Chapter was formally chartered on May 1st, 1999. Founding members were: Brandon J. Sucher, Sobha A. Abraham, Sarah E. Briscoe, Odessa Flores, Shawn E. Hodges, Rekha C. Johnson, Tramy T. Nguyen, Rajesh H. Patel, Viet-My H. Pham, Joshua K. Rodgers, Ilka A. Rodriquez, Elizabeth P. Tran, Phoung K. Tran, and Viet-My T. The charter was accepted by the Grand Council on August 7th, 1999 in San Diego. The Beta Rho chapter continues to uphold its founding principles and traditions. We still host our annual Casino Night fundraiser for St. Jude’s Hospital, and we continue to make a positive impact on our campus with faculty appreciation events and our academic support network. Beta Rho chapter helps our school fulfill its charter to serve the community of Amarillo as well as the communities of our satellite campuses.
