Save the date! PASO’s 2026 HIV Symposium is happening on Friday, April 10, 2026.
This year’s theme, Aging Without Boundaries: Advancing Clinical Care Across the Lifespan and Redefining HIV Services, brings together healthcare professionals, community leaders, and advocates for a full day of learning, conversation, and connection.
Join us at Amarillo College West Campus for engaging sessions, networking, and six CEUs. Mark your calendar now- we’d love to see you there!
People living with HIV are parents, partners, friends, coworkers, and people in our community. An HIV diagnosis does not define someone’s worth, their future, or their ability to live a full, meaningful life.
At PASO, we believe everyone deserves respect, dignity, and support. We provide friendly, professional advocacy for all individuals living with HIV, meeting people where they are and walking alongside them as they navigate healthcare systems, housing needs, financial challenges, and life’s everyday moments.
No judgment. No assumptions. Just real support from people who care. If you or someone you love is living with HIV and needs help or information, PASO is here. Call us to learn more and find out how we can support you.

If you’re s*xually active, regular HIV testing matters. People with higher risk factors — such as having multiple partners, having s*x without condoms, or sharing needles — should consider testing at least once a year.
Some health providers may recommend testing every 3–6 months depending on individual risk and s*xual behavior.
🚨 Higher risk behaviors include:
• Condomless s*x with partners of unknown HIV status
• Having multiple s*x partners
• S*x with someone who is HIV positive and not virally suppressed
• Sharing needles or injection equipment
Regular testing helps you know where you stand, get treatment early if needed, and reduce the chance of transmitting HIV to others.
Modern HIV care enables people living with HIV to live long, healthy lives — and treatment that leads to an undetectable viral load also prevents s*xual transmission (U=U).

At PASO, we believe supporting someone living with or impacted by HIV means caring for the whole person — not just a diagnosis.
Yes, we help connect clients to HIV testing, treatment, and prevention services. But our work goes far beyond that. PASO uses a whole-person model of support that looks at every part of a client’s life, including physical health, mental and emotional well-being, housing stability, financial needs, and access to community resources.
Our team serves as client advocates every step of the way. We listen, we guide, and we stand alongside our clients as they navigate healthcare systems, overcome barriers, and work toward healthier, more stable lives.
At PASO, no one is just a case number. Every client is seen, supported, and advocated for — because everyone deserves care, dignity, and compassion.

Ever heard of PrEP or PEP and wondered what they actually mean? You’re not alone! 😊
PrEP stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis. It’s a powerful way to help prevent HIV before exposure happens. There are two options available in the U.S.: a daily pill you take once a day, or an injectable option you receive every two months.
PEP is post-exposure prophylaxis. It’s a medication you can take after a possible HIV exposure, but timing matters. PEP must be started within 72 hours after a s*xual encounter and is taken for 28 days, followed by testing.
If you’ve needed PEP before, PrEP might be a good ongoing option to help protect your health moving forward.
Have questions or want to know what option is right for you? Call PASO to learn more and talk with our team. We’re here to help.
