Looking for virtual EMDR therapy for eating disorders or trauma? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from traumatic memories that may feel stuck. Many individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or depression have underlying trauma that keeps symptoms cycling. EMDR helps reprocess those experiences so your brain can store them in a healthier way.

At Recovered and Restored, we offer virtual EMDR therapy in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, South Carolina, and Florida. Our trauma-informed clinicians use EMDR as part of comprehensive eating disorder treatment. Healing is possible, and support is available from the comfort of your home. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that can help individuals process traumatic experiences, alleviate negative symptoms, and find relief and freedom in their lives. Learn more about EMDR for eating disorder recovery today.

If you are looking for Christian-based eating disorder therapy, recovery can begin by focusing on something simple: meeting your basic needs. Healing does not start with restriction. It starts with nourishment. Drinking enough water, getting adequate sleep, grocery shopping, cooking meals, and adding variety back into your diet are foundational steps. Food is not the enemy. God created food to fuel us and to bring joy, and your New Year does not have to revolve around what you are cutting out.

Recovery also grows in community and spiritual rhythm. Research shows family meals can reduce disordered eating in adolescents, and a supportive church community strengthens emotional health. At Recovered and Restored, we offer compassionate Christian eating disorder therapy that supports your faith and your recovery journey.

By: Rachel Dodson RD, LDN We have made it to 2026! Honestly, I used to loathe the New Year. It felt like with the change of months from December to January, a light was turned off - the sparkle and joy of the holidays was replaced by the dreary darkness of January and… diet culture. The noise of d...

If exercise feels mandatory rather than supportive, you may be dealing with compulsive exercise. Compulsive exercise in women is often closely connected to eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, and disordered eating patterns. It can look like intense guilt on rest days, rigid workout rules, exercising while injured, or using movement to manage food anxiety or body image distress.

Research shows that compulsive exercise is linked to eating disorder severity and obsessive thinking. When movement becomes driven by fear instead of care, support can make a difference. At Recovered and Restored, we offer virtual eating disorder therapy to help women rebuild a healthier relationship with exercise, body image, and food. Recovery is possible, and you do not have to navigate it alone.

At Recovered and Restored Eating Disorder Therapy Center, we help women work through compulsive exercise as part of eating disorder recovery and body image healing. We are a team of recovered professionals, and we take a compassionate, practical approach that helps you feel understood while you lear...

If you are searching “how can I pay for therapy without insurance,” you are not alone. Many people pay for therapy using sliding scale rates, HSA or FSA funds, or by submitting a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Sliding scale therapy offers reduced fee slots based on financial need. HSA and FSA accounts often cover outpatient mental health therapy, depending on your plan. A superbill is a detailed receipt you can send to your insurance company to request reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.

Recovered and Restored is a fully virtual private pay practice, and we help clients explore realistic, flexible options like biweekly scheduling or combining in-network support with specialty eating disorder therapy. Healing is possible, and we are here to help you find a plan that works.

If you’re wondering how can I afford therapy without insurance, you’re not alone and you’re not “bad at adulting.” Paying out of pocket can feel confusing and overwhelming, but you have more options than you think, including sliding scale rates, using an HSA or FSA, and submitting a superb...
