Why would we be putting up a post about breathing? Let alone, why being able to hear audible breathing is a sign of airway dysfunction?
Breath 💨 is the anchor to all function
Breath = speech
Breath = posture
Breath = sleep
Breath = resting position
If I can hear your child breathing, there is likely an airway obstruction, functional or structural ➡️turninates, septum, adenoids, tonsils, palate size and shape, etc.
The first referral will be to ENT 👂🏻 👃🏻 👄 to assess and clear the airway BEFORE we begin orofacial myofunctional therapy.
