Well, Thanksgiving is this Thursday and you know what that means - football, family and food. It’s an American tradition to eat way too much on Turkey Day and before we know it, the holidays will be in full swing, which means less time for the gym and more time to put on some extra pounds.

Studies have found that the average weight gain during the holiday season is approximately .5 to 1lb and not the typical 5-10lbs that most believe. However, researchers did note that even though the weight gain isn’t as much as most think, this extra weight was also maintained through the winter months.

Even though this may not sound like much, the effects can be quite dramatic. Think about it this way, a 1lb gain during the holidays along with any extra weight gained throughout the year and times that by several years, can become a significant increase in the waist line. Also consider the fact that while aging we naturally lose lean weight causing our metabolism to slow down. Therefore these couple extra pounds can quickly add up if a regularly participated fitness program that keeps our metabolism revving isn’t followed.

To keep things in check, here are some simple Thanksgiving Days Feast to follow 🦃🍗
