🏊🏼 Can you swim with a hair system? 🏊🏼

The answer is it depends. Depending on the type of hair system and the way we choose to adhere it is the deciding factor on whether you can swim with it.

You can swim with most semi-permanent hair systems that adhered with adhesive or strong hold tape. I do not recommend swimming in wigs unless they are specifically made for swimming. The main reason you CAN swim with a hair system is because they are disposable. After a 1 to 4 months most people wearing semi permanent hair systems tend to replace it. Once it's worn out that's it. They usually end up being thrown away.

Wigs and toppers are a different story. These systems are made for longevity and depending on the system they are made premium quality hair. They are much more expensive than a semi permanent hair system so you want them to last as long as possible. For that reason I DO NOT recommend swimming in them.

Here are some of my recommendations in case you do want to swim, but don't want to ruin your wig or topper:
💫Wear a scarf, hat, bandana, or swim cap
💫Use a cheap or old wig or topper that you don't care about.
💫Use a wig specifically made for swimming. Those are normally made of high quality synthetic fiber that are made to withstand the damage.
💫Surface swimming is also a good alternative in case you do want to wear your wig or topper.

At the end of the day, you should enjoy your life. Don't let your hair stop you from creating memories. Live life abundantly. A hair system can always be replaced, but your memories and time are irreplaceable.

✨After photo of one of my clients✨

When he found me, he was already wearing a hair system. He was so unhappy with his results from his former hair replacement stylist. He was promised over and over that the next hair system would be better, the next cut would be more natural, etc. Unfortunately, it never got better.

He got tired of the broken promises and decided to schedule a consultation with me. Thankfully, he took the chance to work with me and has been with me ever since.

Sadly, not every hair replacement specialist is made equal. Take your time to research and interview your specialist. If they seem too pushy or are evasive you might want to consider finding someone else with your best interest at heart. Hair replacement is suppose to give you confidence, not self conscience.

☀️😎 Hello Summer! 😎☀️

One of the best parts of wearing a semi-permanent hair system is that you can enjoy life all season long while showing off your fabulous head of hair. Unfortunately one of the inconveniences during the summer months is that the adhesive will break down/melt faster than usual. This won't cause any damage to the system, but it does mean you might have to come into the salon a little sooner than usual for a service.

So this is a gentle reminder, go out and enjoy your summer! Don't allow the minor inconveniences to ruin this season. We can always replace the hair system, but we can't replace the memories that you will make this season.

❓Will leaving my hair in a bun or ponytail cause hairloss❓

💫Yes and no

If done properly no, it does not cause hair loss.
Now, if you are doing it improperly you will see gradual hair loss.

Here are some signs that your bun or ponytail are causing hair loss:

🚨You feel tension release after you take out your ponytail or bun
🚨You see too much hair come out when you take out your bun or ponytail
🚨You notice the hair along your temples and hairline begin to thin out.

If you see these signs, don't worry! You can always make changes to prevent hair loss. Reminder, this happens gradually overtime. Do not freak out, there are measures you can take to prevent hair loss.

🤨 Well then, how do I prevent hair loss while while wearing a ponytail or bun? 🤨

🌟Loosen up that ponytail! Wearing it too tight is going to pull that hair out over time.
If you are a performer, athlete, dancer, etc., who need's to wear your ponytail pulled back, just remember product is your best friend. You can get the same look, with out the tension just by using the right products.
🌟Choose the right hair tie for you. There are so many types and sizes, just make sure you are using the right one for your hair.
🌟Choose the right brush and be gentle with your scalp. The best brush is one that is gentle on your hair and has bristles that bend. If you want that sleek look, choose a boar bristle brush to smooth out your hair.

🧐How long do hair systems last?🧐

Well, that depends. Some systems last 1 month while others last 6 months to 1 year, sometimes even longer.

Every hair system is unique and they all have their benefit.

The most natural systems are made to have a low amount of hair and a fine base. For that reason, they are the most delicate and last the least amount of time.

Systems that last the longest have a higher amount of hair and thicker bases. They are made for durability.

There are also systems that last somewhere in between.

Do I have to shave my hair? 😔

The answer is no! Not unless you want to.

For some, a solution like this can be applied with gentle hair clips/combs that grab on to your hair. It provides an immediate coverage on the top of the head. A topper is perfect for anyone who is self conscious about the amount of on the top of your head or is looking for a little extra fullness and length.
