Communities grow stronger when citizens take the opportunity to connect with each other and do things together. Relationships are formed when people help others, and join together to help one another. We all determine what type of community we live in...be a part of the solution. Feeding hungry people with donations of extra food is an integral part of resource conservation. Organic waste accounts for more than a third of the material in California’s waste stream. Greenhouse gas emissions caused by the decomposition of organic material in landfills contribute to global climate change. Reducing the amount of organic material sent to landfills is part of the solution.
