💸 Want to save $$$ money on dental bills?

Here are simple things you can be doing now to protect your mouth so your checkups stay smooth, stress free, and wallet-friendly;)

1. Switch to hydroxyapatite toothpaste/powder → Hydroxyapatite is what your teeth are made of. It remineralizes teeth naturally and prevents cavities (reducing fillings + crowns).

2. Don't sip all day → constant sipping (even on lemon water, sparkling water, kombucha, or coffee) bathes teeth in acid and erodes enamel. Stick to mealtimes.

3. Switch your toothbrush regularly → an old brush doesn't clean well and spreads bacteria → fresh brush = fewer dental cleanings.

4. Stop using harsh mouthwashes → they kill good bacteria, making cavities and gum issues worse (leading to $$$ treatments)..

5. Rinse with water after meals → especially if you had wine, citrus, or soda. It's a free, easy way to wash acids off your teeth before they cause damage.

6. Eat mineral-rich snacks/Balance your Minerals (cheese, nuts, crunchy veggies) → neutralize acid + give teeth building blocks for remineralization. You can also take magnesium, vitamin D, K2.

👇 Alright....you'll want to read this whole caption!

Before I got into health-based/ functional/biomimetic dentistry, I was one of those"drill and fill" dentists.

The one thing | lacked....the proper education.

The "drill and fill", fluoride, SDF, mercury fillings. was all I knew.

So don't just blame your dentist because root canals, or mercury fillings, or fluoride is all they know how to do (find my opinions on these subjects in my other reels)
There are so many good dentists in this world!

But keeping your mouth AND body healthy is extremely important. And if your dentist does some of the things on the list below, it might just be the right time for you to find a new one.

1.) Fluoride. Fluoride is a big "no". Recent news and scientific studies have shown that fluoride decreases IQ, causes harm to your body, and so much more.

2.) Tell you why. Is your dentist telling you WHY they recommend certain options? If your are asking them questions and they are not willing to tell you "why" then this is a bad sign.

3.) Speaking of options...are they giving you options to choose from so that you can make an educated choice? Because they need to!

4.) Ozone? Do they use ozone to kill bacteria and prevent future bacteria? Ozone is essential!

5.) Cone Beam CT Scans. Are they willing to give you a cone beam ct scan to have a more thorough look at your jaw, airway, and bone loss? (I could not do the work I do without a cone beam ct scan. It has literally been a lifesaver).

6.) Are you always aware of your treatment plan? Make sure they don't change it on you half way through!

😱 Most people think tooth pain is the worst news... but if you've been told you need a root canal and your tooth is still sensitive, I actually celebrate.

Why? Because pain means the tooth is alive - and that gives us a chance to save it.
Here's the bigger picture: research shows that when a tooth dies and root canal bacteria release toxins (LPS), it doesn't just stay in your mouth.

Those toxins can leak into your bloodstream, fueling inflammation that's been linked to depression, autoimmune disease, and even lower quality of life.

So when I hear, "Yes, my tooth still hurts," I smile - because it means we have the opportunity to protect not just your tooth, but your whole-body health.

Saving a tooth looks like:

🦷 Removing what's irritating it

🦷 Reducing inflammation naturally

🦷 Rebuilding the tooth with minerals

🦷 Supporting the body from the inside

😱 Think cavities are only caused by sugar? Think again!

This patient didn't eat sweets or drink soda — yet she kept losing teeth and even lost an implant.

The real problem? Her gut wasn't working, and her body was stealing minerals from her teeth just to survive.

If your teeth keep breaking down no matter what you eat, it's time to dig deeper. Your gut health might be the missing piece.

🗣️ You've probably heard the concerns about root canals - but what if you already have one?

In this video, I explain why root canals can sometimes harbor hidden bacteria, how infections form, and the questions you should be asking if you've had this procedure. Knowledge is power, and your health deserves both clarity and care.

What your dentist isn't telling you 👀
This is what happens when traditional dentistry focuses on symptoms instead of root causes. That bright white spot? That's a problem that could have been prevented.

At Total Care Dental, We look at your whole body—not just your teeth. Because your oral health is connected to everything: your gut, your hormones, your energy, your immune system.

Real health starts with understanding what's really going on.
