Direct Support Staff - Day Program
Come work at Roost Services! We are seeking energetic Team Members who are as passionate as we are about making an impact. We hang out with kids and adults with developmental disabilities, going on adventures, teaching social skills, and assisting with various day-to-day personal needs. The top priority of Roost Team Members is to create opportunities for our individuals to ELEVATE their quality of life. Team Members get paid to take individuals swimming, rock climbing, hiking, to movies, and more. Other responsibilities include assisting individuals with personal hygiene needs, implementing behavior management techniques, and teaching individuals to communicate their needs effectively. Our mission is to inspire and be inspired by our clients, employees, and business associates. We work to contribute to a LIFE ELEVATED by consistently inspiring positive change and growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership and guidance to individuals with disabilities
-Assist individuals with disabilities in increasing independence, experiencing community membership, increasing social skills, building peer relationships and increasing self-confidence
-Cooperate with the entire staff in working together for the welfare of individuals with disabilities
-Maintain a positive working relationship with other staff
Set a positive example, be a role model in your words and actions
-Participate in all training activities provided by Roost Services for your personal growth and skill development
-Adapt activities, as needed, to allow active participation by individuals with disabilities
-Provide additional assistance (e.g., interpreting instructions, providing physical assistance) in order to help individuals with disabilities acquire needed skills
-Encourage and create social interactions between individuals with disabilities
-Adapt activities, as needed, to allow active participation by individuals with disabilities
-Provide positive reinforcement or other behavioral intervention as needed
-Provide any individual assistance needed to promote individuals with disabilities’ general adjustment to interacting with others

Qualifications:

-Must be 18 years or older
-Desire to work with children/adults with developmental disabilities and a willingness to learn
-Maturity, good moral character, and integrity
-Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
-Must be able to monitor the safety and well-being of kids/adults with developmental disabilities
-Model appropriate behavior and use positive behavior-management techniques
-Must be able to actively participate in a variety of physical activities

The Residential Direct Care Staff’s primary responsibility is to ensure the day-to-day care and safety of the individuals they support. This entails assisting consumers in working toward their PCSP Goals, engaging them with undivided attention, and supporting them in activities of daily living (eating, bathing, mobility).
Team Members working in a Roost Residential Program support up to 3 individuals with disabilities, who are roommates living in their own home. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting individuals in eating balanced and nutritious meals, facilitating adventures/activities, helping individuals develop meaningful and lasting relationships in their community, and completing paperwork/support documentation for services provided. Residential Direct Care Staff are critical in ensuring the people living in a Roost Residential Program have the ability to lead independent lives. Residential Direct Care Staff ensure that persons served have the ability to make their own decisions--from minor choices such as what to eat for breakfast or selecting what to wear, to more impactful decisions like making friends, entering into a romantic relationship, pursuing ongoing education, or pursuing employment or other professional endeavors.

This entails assisting individuals one-on-one in working toward their PCSP Goals, engaging them with undivided attention, and supporting them in activities of daily living (eating, bathing, mobility).

Day-to-day responsibilities for a Supported Living Staff entail providing individuals with one-on-one support in eating balanced and nutritious meals, facilitating adventures/activities, and helping individuals develop meaningful and lasting relationships with their roommates, friends, neighbors, and community members. Supported Living Staff are critical in ensuring the people we serve have the ability to lead independent lives. Staff ensure that persons served have the ability to make their own decisions--from minor choices such as choosing the day's activity, to more impactful decisions like making friends, entering into a romantic relationship, pursuing ongoing education, or pursuing employment or other professional endeavors.

We are currently hiring for positions in our Day Program and Supported Living programs, providing direct support to people with autism and developmental disabilities.

Full-time or Part-time positions available.

Compensation:
Pay starts at $12.00/hour. Negotiable, depending on experience.

Requirements:
-Must be 18 years or older
-Desire to work with children/adults with disabilities and a willingness to learn
-Maturity, good moral character, and integrity
-Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
-Must be able to monitor the safety and well-being of kids/adults with developmental disabilities
-Model appropriate behavior and use positive behavior-management techniques
-Must be able to actively participate in a variety of physical activities, including swimming
-Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification
-Must pass background check
-Must possess strong people skills
-Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
-Must be capable of de-escalating crisis situations
-Must have reliable transportation
