The Residential Direct Care Staff’s primary responsibility is to ensure the day-to-day care and safety of the individuals they support. This entails assisting consumers in working toward their PCSP Goals, engaging them with undivided attention, and supporting them in activities of daily living (eating, bathing, mobility).
Team Members working in a Roost Residential Program support up to 3 individuals with disabilities, who are roommates living in their own home. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting individuals in eating balanced and nutritious meals, facilitating adventures/activities, helping individuals develop meaningful and lasting relationships in their community, and completing paperwork/support documentation for services provided. Residential Direct Care Staff are critical in ensuring the people living in a Roost Residential Program have the ability to lead independent lives. Residential Direct Care Staff ensure that persons served have the ability to make their own decisions--from minor choices such as what to eat for breakfast or selecting what to wear, to more impactful decisions like making friends, entering into a romantic relationship, pursuing ongoing education, or pursuing employment or other professional endeavors.
