Find comfort in discomfort and do hard things! The weather was yucky today...ugh, and still is, cold and rainy. Hershey the trail wander dog has no sunshine to lay in and she is a bit on the sad side, lol! But this morning as the rain picked up, I layered up and went for a run! I wore my Wonder Woman base layer, and a mid-layer and then rain jacket as the outer shell. I actually got too warm. But I also knew the rain would eventually seep through my outer shell to my mid-layer which it did. So, having that mid-layer kept the base layer dry and core warm. It's all about the core. And I wore pants, you should all be proud, it wasn't shorts.π Shorts probably would have been warmer though because my legs would have been dry afterward instead of sitting in wet pant legs for the drive home. Anywho, lol, back to doing hard things! Anytime I think something is hard, I stand it next to my north Georgia adventure back in February when I was on top of a mountain in heavy snow, it was 5 degrees and wind gusts up to 30 mph. Not your ideal running conditions, but man did God show up on that adventure like He does for all of them. You'll hear more of that story in my next devotional series! But, there will ALWAYS be challenges in life, and things that we go through that are uncomfortable. What we have GOT TO DO, is expect God to show up and walk every step with us! So, I challenge you this month with all the Christmas festivities, and sometimes overwhelmingness of the season, cooking shopping, etc...to stop! Step out of your comfort zone and step into what God has put on your heart to do. It could be simply spending time with Him! When we seek Him with all of our heart, we will find Him. But you've got to be ready, willing, and obedient to do what He wants you to do! But here's the irony in it...you will find so much joy when you come to the end of yourself. Joy that makes no sense, and only comes from God our creator. Y'all stay warm out there!
