Mirror, mirror on the wall… who had the best Halloween of all? 👑 Our residents chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as our group costume this year and we had a fairy-tale kind of day! From dancing woth DJ Chef Jeff to a costume contest and a little bit of dwarfy humor, there were smiles all around.😊✨ Wishing you a magical and happy Halloween from Independence Village of Ames! 🍎🫶🏽

🎃🕸️ Fright Night at Independence Village of Ames was an absolute boo-tiful success this week! 👻 Our halls were filled with laughter, costumes, candy, and smiles as residents, families, and friends joined in on all the fun. From trick-or-treating and mini golf to our spooky box raffle (where everyone had to guess those mystery slimy foods 🫣), there was never a dull moment! 💀🧡 We’re so thankful for everyone who came out to celebrate — nights like this remind us how special it is to make memories together. 🕷️✨ Here’s to another fang-tastic Halloween at the Village! 🖤🎉

Last week was National Boss’s Day, but our Executive Director is always on the go—running two communities with so much heart and energy! 💪💖 So today, we pulled off the ultimate surprise to celebrate her in true Independence Village style! 🎉

Sydney is a true testament to loving the people around her and making sure everyone feels welcome, safe, and happy. 💛💙💚 She might not love the word “boss,” so we went with a fun Head Honcho theme—complete with bright Spanish-inspired colors, fiesta vibes, and a few surprises up our sleeves! ❤️💛💜💚💙

After celebrating our Head Honcho, residents got creative marbling pumpkins with vibrant color combinations that turned out amazing! 🎨🎃 Their creativity truly shined! ✨

💪✨ Celebrating National Physical Therapy Month!

Today, our community joined in celebrating National Physical Therapy Month with an energizing and educational session led by our talented, Physical Therapist, Kessa! 🧡

Kessa’s theme for class today was based on “Believe in the strength of people” — empowering individuals of all ages and ability levels to move with confidence and strength. She demonstrated a series of functional exercises designed to improve balance, stability, and overall strength, helping residents stay active, independent, and feeling their best! 🌟

🏋️‍♀️ The exercises included:
• Snatches
• Dead Lifts
• “Dart Board” Balance Challenge 🎯
• Weighted Carries
• Rows
• Clock Yourself ⏰

Our residents loved participating and learning how small, purposeful movements can make a big difference in daily life — and, of course, they finished with some well-deserved treats and smiles! 🍪😄
