Choice Medical is proudly locally owned and operated in Ames, Iowa. We pride ourselves on providing the best service to all of our customers!

Choice Medical, LLC was established in May of 2002 by Kevin Henning. With over thirty years of experience in the Durable Medical Industry, Kevin found a great opportunity to start his own business. After receiving his biomedical electronics degree (AAS), Henning started his career with Miller Medical Service in Waterloo. A few years later, Kevin came to Ames to pursue his electronic engineering degree at Iowa State University (BSEE). While a student, he worked part-time for Excel Medical (a former medical equipment business in Ames). With the departure of Excel Medical from the Ames market, an opportunity was realized for Kevin. Today, Choice Medical, LLC has received much support from the local medical clinics, doctors and many customers. All are pleased to see what we have to offer. With high quality service and products, Choice Medical is committed to providing independence and freedom to meet their customers' medical needs as a one-stop shop. Choice Medical completed their triennial survey for accreditation on November 19th, 2020. The survey was completed by HQAA and we received one of the highest scores ever given to a company! We pride ourselves on offering the best customer service and a wide variety of durable medical equipment. Choice Medical strives to continue providing the very best customer service to existing customers as well as new ones.

As a Senior Billing Specialist (a position I have had for over 17 years) I would like to pass on some information for your knowledge.

Medicare Advantage plans, are NOT an advantage. I hear a lot that the "Rep that sold it to me said it was the top of the line plan and that I will never have to pay anything"

That is simply not the case and we see a lot of frustrated customers that come into Choice Medical, LLC and are upset when they are unable to obtain certain items that are not covered or do not reimburse enough for any medical company to be able to bill the item through insurance.

Medicare Advantage plans are under heavy scrutiny right now from CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicaid Services) as they over see them and how they operate.

Federal US Health Officials are calling the marketing of Medicare Advantage plans highly deceptive.

Federal US Health Officials have proposed a set of rules governing private Medicare Advantage health plans that will closer monitor them and require that all of the plans follow strict rules in regards to claims processing, denials and prior approvals.

If you have a loved one who is of Medicare age, make sure to explain to them about the immense amount of downfalls that come with switching to a Medicare Advantage plan.
