I hope its not filled with dread and anxiety over being “beach ready”

This summer let’s commit to the activities that bring us joy and our bodies and souls crave

Let’s commit to presence over pressure

Let’s commit to feeling good in our bodies at whatever stage they are in right now

And if you are noticing that you don’t feel good and are avoiding or limiting what we enjoy because of how your body is feeling (achey, stiff, pain, pressure, leaking etc etc) that you commit to addressing THAT as your priority not whatever physique is currently trending

If you’re leaking when you sneeze, feeling pain during s*x, or just not feeling like you again...

Early C-section rehabilitation matters AND makes a huge difference in how you are going to feel and what you are able to do.

1st pic: Day 1 after my C-section. I delivered Torin at 10 PM and was out of bed for breakfast. And of course, for some baby snuggles.
2nd pic: 2 months postpartum at the top of Mt. Washington.

Ok ok We didn’t climb it. I wasn’t feeling back to full on long hiking shape at 8 weeks but I was feeling good and enough and strong enough to do some walking at the summit while baby wearing and do some short hikes.

And the reason for feeling so good was because I made recovery a priority from day 1.

I was not planning a Csection (as most aren’t) and I sure had all sorts of feels about it after induction, long LONG labor and hrs of pushing but where I felt confident was in the rehab process

And not know that I was fortunate in that regard. I was able to use my decade of rehab experience as a PT to know how to support myself and what steps to take. And unfortunately so many are left with a quick run through of precautions with no advice on what they can do to decrease pain and improve recovery ❤️‍🩹

I knew the importance of getting out of bed early
I knew how to wear an abdominal binder
I knew that while vigorously exercising might be restricted for 6 weeks the right movements can decrease pain and kick start recovery

This is one of the many reasons I’m so passionate about helping moms recover postpartum.
