Many of you who are patients in my office know Ed, my virtual assistant who has worked for me for the past year and a half. For those who haven’t met him, Ed is the person helping me behind the scenes to keep my office running smoothly, allowing me to focus on providing the best care and healing possible. He is kind, dedicated, thoughtful, and consistently tends to the needs of our patients and me.
Recently, a powerful 7.4 earthquake struck Davao Oriental in the Philippines, where his parents, aunt, and others live. Their family home suffered severe damage with cracked walls, collapsed ceilings, making the structure not safe to stay in. Everyone living in the house has been forced to sleep outside in tents or cars due to ongoing aftershocks and risk of debris falling. Although Ed has also experienced the effects of the quake, where he lives fared better and his primary concern is the safety and stability of his family and the others living in the home.
Despite the fear, uncertainty, and emotional weight he is carrying, Ed continues to show up each day ready to work and serve our patients. However, his family urgently needs assistance with food, clean water, temporary shelter, and supplies for repairs.
If you feel moved to help Ed and his family, please go to his go fund me page. Even the smallest contribution can make a real difference. Everything raised goes directly toward supporting his family’s daily needs and rebuilding efforts.
