As kids head back to school, it’s the perfect time to check their backpacks—and make sure they’re carrying them safely. Heavy or poorly fitted backpacks can lead to neck pain, back strain, and poor posture that can last long past the school year.

Backpack Safety Tips:
✔️ Keep the weight between 5–10% of your child’s bodyweight
✔️ Pack the heaviest items closest to the back
✔️ Choose a backpack with multiple compartments to distribute weight evenly
✔️ Both straps should always be used to prevent uneven strain
✔️ Tighten straps so the backpack sits snugly against the back and doesn’t hang below the hips
✔️ If your child is leaning forward to balance the weight, it’s too heavy

A little awareness goes a long way in protecting their growing spines!
