Who can receive services from your agency? Are they disqualified if they were dishonorably discharged? If they’re not a close family member? “We’re here to help. We’re not going to exclude people. We’re going to help them“

Why don’t we have this availability for persons with addictions? how many people will still get turned away from treatment TODAY for substance use because they don’t “meet criteria“. Because they are not in withdrawal or because they haven’t used enough drugs at the right time? We have a long ways to go.

“Please take the extra minute and ask how they’re doing. When someone says “I’m good“ let them know how happy you are and ask the details about how good they’re doing. Because sometimes they’re really not doing good and just need someone to listen for a moment. ”

Working with a family just yesterday. Mom says her adult son is now 5 years sober from He**in ( and all other drugs including alcohol). This is why I do what I do. Not only supporting, but teaching, guiding, advising family members how to reward recovery and to de-incentivize addiction behaviors in their loved ones...:)
