What does it mean when a sunscreen says "Broad Spectrum"?
We get this question a lot!

When you come into our office and look at our sunscreen display, you'll notice that all of our sunscreens say "Broad Spectrum SPF". In sunscreen, broad spectrum means that the product will protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Looking for broad spectrum is crucial when choosing your sunscreen. UVA rays contribute to aging the skin while UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburns.

Did you know that we offer 9 different sunscreens here at Amherst Laser and Skin Care center?? And they're ALL broad spectrum!
We take pride in offering products and treatments for all skin types and skin tones.

Just a summer laser reminder for everyone!
We are now in the peak of the summer which, means we're spending lots of time outside -- like pool days, boat days, and beach days! Please remember hat if you have a laser appointment scheduled and have a suntan or any changes to your natural skin tone, we will not be able to treat you.

Treating over a tan can result in unwanted pigmentation such as lightening or darkening of the skin. If you are questioning whether you may or may not be safe to treat, please call the office prior to your appointment.
