We have been here at the DENT TOWER since July 2003 when Dr. Stephen Mechtler first opened the doors. Since then our practice has grown to include Dr. Mechtler plus three medical secretaries, a file clerk, two nurses, two medical assistants, three nurse practitioners, as well as our billing secretary, payroll specialist, transcriptionists and many others who help us run our practice smoothly. You will find our staff to be friendly, kind and knowledgeable.
Dr. Mechtler performs surgeries and deliveries at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital and high risk deliveries at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo.
We have expanded our hours to include evenings and weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of our patients. You will be cared for by the provider you have scheduled your appointment with & are always free to choose which of the four clinicians you wish to see. Each provider has an individual schedule. If you need to be seen sooner or on a different time or day, you are welcome to schedule with one of the other clinicians, if you wish to accommodate your needs. We offer a full range of OB/GYN services, such as birth control options, cancer screening (breast exams, pap smears etc), prenatal care & delivery, menopausal care, surgical interventional, colposcopy, cryotherapy, non-stress tests and endometrial biopsy by our providers every day at any time convenient for our patients.

BIOGRAPHY DR. STEPHEN MECHTLER
DR. STEPHEN MECHTLER is an OB/GYN with over 16 years of experience. He opened Snyder OB-GYN PC in July 2003 as a solo practice after working in a group practice for 11 years. He recently acquired the practices of Creekside OB/GYN and has added nurse practitioners, an additional nurse and an additional medical secretary to his staff.
Dr. Mechtler was raised in Western New York and attended Canisius College for pre-Med. He then attended the University of Budapest Medical School in Budapest, Hungary and received his MD there in 1984.
He did his OB/GYN residency at SUNY here in Buffalo, New York and has been in private practice since 1991. He was initially at Health Care Plan, then later, Pro-medicus Health Group prior to opening Snyder OB-GYN PC.
He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has special interests in high risk pregnancies, menopause, contraception, fibroids and laparoscopic surgeries including laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis.
