This picture is with my buddy Terry.

Two weeks ago, he took home his first prosthesis. That’s it. Two weeks.

And he’s already putting in thousands of steps a day.

Let that sink in.

This stuff isn’t easy. The soreness, the frustration, learning how to trust your body again… most people don’t see that part. But Terry’s putting his head down and getting after it every single day.

That’s how you do it.

Keep putting in the work, Terry. You’re doing amazing and it shows.

I remember being a kid and feeling like everything was just a little harder for me.

Sports didn’t come easy. I had to work twice as hard just to keep up. There were days I felt frustrated, days I felt behind, and honestly… days I felt pretty down about it.

When you’re young, you don’t see the bigger picture. You just see what you can’t do as easily as everyone else.

But looking back now, I wouldn’t change it.

That struggle taught me who I am. It taught me patience, toughness, and how to keep going when things aren’t going your way. It forced me to figure things out instead of giving up.

And more importantly, it gave me something I can use today.

Because now when I talk to someone new going through limb loss, I get it. Not from a textbook. Not from a clinic. From living it.

I know what those early days feel like. I know the doubts. I know the frustration.

And I also know what’s possible if you stick with it.

So if you’re in that spot right now, feeling like everything is harder than it should be… you’re not wrong.

But you’re also building something in yourself that’s going to carry you a long way.

Keep going. It’s worth it.

Most amputees go WAY too long without meeting another amputee.

I did.

And I’ll tell you straight up…
one conversation with someone who “gets it” can change everything.

It can give you hope.
It can give you answers.
It can give you your confidence back.
That’s why this group exists.

If you’ve ever been helped by another amputee… say something in the comments.

And if you’re new here… you just found your people.

This Thursday, we’re back at it.

Join us at the ProMedica Health and Wellness Center for our next support group meeting. This one’s a good one.

We’ll have the team from Blatchford there, giving you a chance to see and talk through the differences in prosthetic knees and feet. No sales pitch, just real conversations, real questions, and a chance to learn what might actually work better for you.

If you’ve ever wondered why one setup feels better than another, or if you’re thinking about making a change, this is the time to show up and get hands-on.

And like always, it’s not just about the equipment. It’s about being around people who get it.

Thursday. Same place. Same crew. Bring your questions.

How many of you have had someone say:

“You’re doing so good, I forget you’re even an amputee.”

They mean it as a compliment.
But if we’re being honest… it’s not always one.

Because you don’t forget.

Not when you’re getting dressed.
Not when you’re walking on uneven ground.
Not when your leg decides today’s not the day.

There’s this weird pressure to make it look easy so everyone else feels comfortable.

But this life isn’t “easy”… it’s earned.
Every step. Every adjustment. Every setback you push through.
So if nobody’s told you lately:

You don’t have to hide the hard parts to make other people comfortable.
You’re not “less of an amputee” on your good days
and you’re not failing on your bad ones.
You’re just living it.

Drop a 👍 if you’ve heard that comment before
or tell me the one comment that drives you crazy
