Very well said by past PSSNY President Steve Moore. We need PAPA passed!

Please take a listen to PSSNY President-Elect Dan Bosley’s plea for NYS legislature to please pass PAPA!
“It’s not about over payment, it’s about fair payment… the longer we wait, the more pharmacies will close… what happens to those communities? what happens to those patients?”

From Pharmacists Society of the State of New York - PSSNY - NYS Board of Pharmacy Update- New York’s Prescription Transfer Regulations!

As you may recall, regulations adopted last fall authorized pharmacists to transfer a patient’s entire prescription, including any remaining refills for non-controlled substances. Building on that change, the Board of Regents has now adopted, through emergency action, an additional amendment to section 63.6 (a)(8), permitting the transfer of controlled substance prescription refills between pharmacies, in accordance with Article 33 of the Public Health Law and Part 80 of Title 10 of the New York Codes of Rules and Regulations.

To provide clarity, the Department is in the process of publishing the amended regulation, as well as an advisory notice, and updated FAQs for the public which focus on the transfer of non-controlled substance prescriptions. For questions related to the transferring of controlled substance prescriptions, including applicable processes and requirements, inquiries may be directed to the Department of Health’s Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement at narcotic@health.ny.gov.
