At Speak Easy Speech Therapy we collaborate closely with orthodontists. Orthodontists often notice the impacts of thumb-sucking habits, identify tongue ties, poor tongue resting posture and the direction your tongue likes to move in your mouth. These issues can impact dental health but also speech for a variety of reasons. When they identify these issues, they trust their families are in good hands when they refer them to Speak Easy!

At Speak Easy, parents are an integral part of our therapy team. We actively welcome families into sessions because meaningful progress doesn’t happen alone. By involving parents, we are able to educate, empower, and share exactly what we are working on—so strategies can be carried over at home and throughout a child’s day.

Modeling functional phrases the child can use right away (e.g., “Let’s go!”, “I need help,” “All done”) rather than drilling isolated words.

At Speak Easy Speech Therapy, we specialize in pediatrics, serving children from 18 months through age 20—and in some cases, beyond. We work closely with families whose children age out of early intervention on their third birthday, as well as parents who seek us out around age 2.5, knowing their child’s state-provided services will soon be discontinued.

When state services are cut off, it does not mean your child no longer needs support or that mastery has been achieved—it simply reflects an age-based requirement set by the state. We help families understand this often confusing transition and provide education, guidance, and support as they move into private therapy. Our goal is to serve as a bridge, ensuring continuity of care, carryover of skills, and preventing children from falling through the cracks.

A Passion for Speech Therepy

We are a family centered, play based speech therapy company that provides in-home and on-site pediatric speech therapy to children of all ages and abilities. All speech therapy sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each individual child’s strengths and to encourage the development of new skills. My therapy sessions occur in a natural, relaxed setting to prompt immediate use of a child’s new skills. At Speak Easy I place importance on a child’s ability to use new skills across each day and with the people they regularly interact with. A family centered technique allows parents and teachers to target a child’s speech and language goals every day. Specialized activities are taught to ensure the child is getting lots of practice thus speeding up their progress. Speak Easy Speech Therapy believes that children learn best when they are having fun!
