Ridge Hill Memorial Park is offering a scholarship opportunity to local students. We will be awarding 4 scholarships of $1,000 each to deserving students. To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria.

- Be enrolled in a public or private high school in Lorain County or have graduated from high school in the last year. Home schooled students are also welcome to apply.
- Have been accepted to attend an institution of higher education, including trade schools, military academies, or the Officer Candidate School in the armed forces.
- Submit an essay to Ridge Hill Memorial Park of not more than 2,000 words. The essay should detail the applicant’s plans following high school, the positive impacts they have made within Lorain County, and how the scholarship money would benefit them. Essays may be handwritten or typed, but handwritten essays must be easily legible.
- Applicants must not be related to a current employee of Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

The deadline for submissions is May 1st, 2026. All application essays should be submitted to Ridge Hill Memorial Park or postmarked by that date. Submissions will be reviewed by the management of Ridge Hill Memorial Park and recipients selected by May 22nd, 2026. A check made out to the selected recipients will be made available for them to pick up at Ridge Hill. We ask that recipients allow us to take a photo with them and allow us to honor them by placing their name, school, and graduation year on a plaque in our lobby.

You may notice that the Last Supper monument at Ridge Hill Memorial Park is being removed. It was in need of significant repairs, and the decision has been made to replace it. We are very pleased to partner with Ohio Headstone Company for the addition of a brand new Last Supper monument which will include cremation niches! Unlike the old monument which was made of concrete, this will be made entirely of granite. The images below are the project renderings. We're excited to offer another cremation option to our community!

Any military history buffs out there? We have a 105mm Howitzer on display at Ridge Hill. If you're in the cemetery, stop and take a look at it and the veteran monument nearby. This Howitzer was donated by the US Army, and it's been here for the past 21 years.

We appreciate all veterans, which is why we have a dedicated section at Ridge Hill just to honor them. We also offer pre-planning discounts to veterans and their families.

All of us at Ridge Hill Memorial Park are heartbroken by the tragic attack against our police that took place yesterday. Words can't express our gratitude to the brave officers who keep our community safe every single day, even in the wake of this senseless violence. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victims, their families, and the entire police department.

This year, Ridge Hill Memorial Park offered scholarships for the first time. Recipients received an award of $1,000 each. Applicants had to be high school seniors attending school in Lorain County and submit an essay detailing their plans for the future, the impact they have made on the community, and how the scholarship would benefit them. We had planned on awarding 5 scholarships. The response was truly amazing! We received many more applicants than we ever anticipated. In the end, it was just too hard to make 5 selections. So, we made 6!

Congratulations to Isaac Bowsher, Alayna Kasper, Isaac Nagy, Madelyn Fada, Nicholas Adams, and Jocelyn Eldemire! Your futures are bright, you've brought great things to your community, and everyone at Ridge Hill Memorial Park is proud of you!

To all of those who were not selected this time around, we wish you great success. It was extremely difficult for us to make these selections. We thank everyone who took the time to submit an application for the scholarship. You will all do great things!

*****Help Identifying Suspects!*****

Ridge Hill Memorial Park has noticed a lot of fresh flowers being eaten lately, and we finally managed to get a picture of the suspects! They entered the cemetery sometime around dawn today and are really, really fast. All four wore matching brown fur coats. If you can identify any of these individuals, please let us know who they are.
