More “Faces of South Shore!” Meet Sarah Woods, MHC-LP. Sarah feels that of the greatest parts of working at South Shore is the strong sense of community and collaboration. Sarah feels very lucky to have completed her externship training at South Shore before continuing into her LP and really values the relationships she’s formed so far. Sarah works with a wife variety of ages and presenting issues, but especially loves her work with teens and young adults in their 20s and 30s. Many of the clients she sees are managing anxiety, relationship issues, depression, and life transitions. Sarah also loves getting the opportunity to work with athletes focusing on their mental health. Sarah’s approach focuses on forming a strong therapeutic relationship, prioritizing client needs and comfort, and providing a safe, non-judgmental space in which people can feel supported to grow and learn.

It’s 👯 Let’s talk about cultivating meaningful connections. One of the most supportive ways you can do this is by understanding that anxiety may look different for everyone. Simply giving a kind, listening ear is one of the greatest gifts you can give to someone experiencing anxiety. Remind yourself to separate the person from their anxiety. It is a state, not a being.
