Chiropractic care has a strong reputation among U.S. adults for effective treatment of neck and back pain.

Americans who have exposure to chiropractors are more likely to have an opinion of them, and in general, those opinions are positive. About three out of four adults who have seen a chiropractor in the last five years agree they are trustworthy, and eight in 10 say they have their patient’s best interest in mind.

Very few adults have ever had a medical doctor, nurse or physical therapist discourage them from going to a chiropractor; however, about three in 10 adults (29%) have had a family member or friend discourage chiropractic care.

Adults aged 18 to 34 are more likely to report that they have never been to a chiropractor (63%) than older adults (44%, on average).

Published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and based on a review of randomized controlled trials and observational studies, the ACP guideline cites heat therapy, massage, acupuncture and spinal manipulation as noninvasive, non-drug options for low back pain treatment.

More recently, the results of a clinical trial published in JAMA Network Open showed that chiropractic care combined with usual medical care for low back pain provides greater pain relief and a greater reduction in disability than medical care alone. The study, which featured 750 active-duty members of the military, is one of the largest comparative effectiveness trials between usual medical care and chiropractic care ever conducted.

Spinal manipulation is a safe and effective non-drug spine pain treatment. It reduces pain (decreasing the need for medication in many cases), rapidly advances physical therapy, and requires very few passive forms of treatment, such as bed rest.

Subluxation is a term that is used when a joint doesn't work the way it's supposed to, whether it's simply not moving how it should or it's misaligned. Subluxation leads to numbness, tingling, pain, and burning in that area of the body.

Chiropractor in Idaho Falls, Idaho

I first got interested in chiropractic while playing college football at the University of Utah. We had a team chiropractor who would work on us before our games. I always felt great after being treated. Once I learned that chiropractic was about a lot more than just neck and back pain I became very interested in learning more. I learned that chiropractic is an important part of overall health and has proven effective in helping with many health conditions.

After graduating from the University of Utah with a bachelors of exercise and sports science, I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport Iowa), where chiropractic started in 1895. I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in the spring of 2001. Since then my wife and I moved to Idaho where we were both raised. I have been enjoying serving the community in southeast Idaho and raising our family. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages. I strive to truly listen to them and work at treating the cause of their health conditions, not just their symptoms. In our office we truly care about everyone we see and strive to give the very best care possible.
