🏋️‍♂️ Big news at BreakThrough PT!

We’ve added a brand-new sports performance and recovery area designed specifically for athletes.

Too often, athletes are cleared to play but never truly prepared to return. You can’t go from mat exercises straight back to the field or court — that’s where injuries happen.

Our goal was to fill that gap right here in our community. Every athlete deserves a safe, full transition back to sport — stronger, faster, and more confident than before.

This new space lets us bridge the gap between rehab and performance, helping athletes finish the comeback the right way.

Total Knee Replacement (TKR) is a common procedure for individuals dealing with long-term knee pain caused by arthritis, injury, or wear-and-tear over time. Many people notice symptoms like:

✨PATIENT SPOTLIGHT✨

“Prior to coming to BreakThrough Therapy, I had a bad fall in March, where I broke my humerus, requiring two plates and eleven screws to repair. My left arm was useless. I needed to rehab my shoulder, elbow, wrist, and fingers.
After 5 months of physical and occupational therapy, I have regained functionally of the injured parts. I am continuing to regain my strength. I also have Parkinson’s disease and as a bonus, I was able to work in some strengthening exercises that have addressed balance issues.
The staff at BreakThrough does an excellent job of mixing professionalism with empathy as they enabled me to overcome this injury and return to my normal activities.
I enjoy my interactions with the staff as well as other patients. The staff always have a variety of interventions, so I was not doing the same exercises every day. The staff also gave appropriate and timely feedback which was encouraging as I saw myself healing and getting stronger.
I am glad that I chose BreakThrough to take care of me!”

Two years. Multiple hip surgeries. Countless hours of hard work and dedication.

This patient came to us after being unable to participate in any physical activity/sports for the last two years. He was referred to BreakThrough Physical Therapy by his doctor in Memphis because of our Return to Sports Athletic Physical Therapy reputation. Since day one, his goal has been clear — get back to playing the game he loves ⚾️.

He and his mom have been making the 1 hour and 20 minute drive from Iuka at 6 a.m. for therapy sessions, and that commitment is paying off. The first clip in this video shows him trying to squat on day one. The second clip shows him just four weeks later — a huge step forward in his journey back to sports.

This week, he told us he had baseball tryouts… and he made the team! 👏

This is why we do what we do. We’re proud to be the choice for athletes across our region who refuse to give up on their goals.

Today we had the opportunity to speak to all the local Juniors and Seniors about careers in Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy — what these professions do, how to get there, and how they can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

We also loved catching up with so many familiar faces and friends from across the county! It’s always special to see how many bright, motivated young people are right here in our community.

Our team is passionate about what we do every day at BreakThrough — and we hope we inspired a few future therapists to chase their calling too! 💙
