🎓 Celebrating Our 2025 Residency Graduates

Please join us in congratulating the 2025 graduates of our Internal Medicine and Family Medicine residency programs. These physicians have demonstrated outstanding dedication, compassion and resilience throughout their training.

We’re especially proud to share that several of this year’s graduates will be staying on with North Mississippi Health Services to continue serving our patients and communities. Their commitment to care is a reflection of the strong foundation built during their time in our programs.

We are grateful for the time they’ve spent with us and excited to see how they continue to grow—whether here at NMHS or beyond.

Congratulations to our first Kangaroo-a-thon winners in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital in Tupelo. During the weeklong emphasis, NICU parents and babies logged a combined total of 158 hours of Kangaroo Care.

Kangaroo Care, which is holding your baby to your chest for skin-to-skin contact, has many benefits for babies, especially those born early or with low birth weight like those in the NICU. Kangaroo care can support a baby’s physical health, help with breastfeeding and nurture the bond between parents and baby.

Our winners were:
1st place: LaDeitra Givhan
2nd place: Whitney Stovall
3rd place: Kristin Kissane

Day shift RN: Joann Hollis
Night shift RN: Terri Spencer

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first Kangaroo-a-thon a huge success!

As a parent, do you dread mealtime?

Are you forcing or bribing your child to eat?

Is she a “picky” eater?

Does he cry during mealtime?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, your child may suffer from a feeding disorder.

Sara Gammill, MS, CCC-SLP, speech-language pathologist with NMMC’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, shares more about picky eating vs. food aversions, and how to help your child.
