Meet Dr. Livingston!

Dr. Donald “Carlisle” Livingston, MD, is an internal medicine physician and pediatrician practicing in our Amory and Starkville offices. He joined P&S in 2018.

Dr. Livingston chose medicine while he was in college after initially planning to be a pharmacist.

“I have always enjoyed learning, and this seemed like a profession that was always changing and presenting new challenges.”

When he couldn’t decide between pediatrics and adult internal medicine, Dr. Livingston decided to do both. He enjoys taking care of entire families.

“I love being able to see a child for a wellness checkup then be able to help mom or dad, maybe even the grandparents, with their problems at the same time.”

Dr. Livingston also feels like his training in two specialties makes him uniquely qualified to help his pediatric patients transition to adult care. He focuses on preventing disease, helping his patients make changes over time to help them live longer, healthy lives.

While he enjoys most areas of medicine, Dr. Livingston particularly enjoys treating high blood pressure and metabolic diseases (such as high cholesterol and diabetes), including in adolescents. He also likes caring for geriatric patients.

When at home with his wife, Erin, and their two daughters, Dr. Livingston enjoys watercolor, practicing dinosaur roars with his children, and exercising. Though in the heat of summer, his exercise is usually growing tomatoes.
