River Ridge Living Center is a 120 Bed skilled nursing home that embraces the new culture of de-insitutionalized resident care with a more homelike family environment. This is Tom. He arrived at River Ridge at the end of August following a right above-knee amputation, and today marked an incredible milestone, receiving his prosthetic leg and taking his first steps.

Through hard work, determination, and consistent therapy, Tom has made meaningful progress and is looking forward to returning home once his program is complete. He shared how much he values his routine with the therapy team and how much he has enjoyed his stay.

A retired professional boxer, Tom knows the dedication it takes to put in the work, and it shows. We are incredibly proud of his strength, perseverance, and progress 🦿💪

Christmas Spirit Week is officially underway at River Ridge, and we started things off in the coziest way with Holiday Pajama Day! 🎅

We are so proud to highlight one of our long-term residents, Genie, and her incredible journey. 💙✨

After facing serious health challenges beginning in October 2024 and arriving at River Ridge just before Thanksgiving, Genie never gave up. She arrived needing a Hoyer lift and faced both physical and emotional hurdles, but with the support of her family and her River Ridge team, her second family, she kept pushing forward.

On October 3, 2025, she stood for the first time. On October 28, she took her first steps. And today, December 12, Genie walked 260 feet. Her determination, strength, and perseverance inspire everyone around her.
