Why are yogis so obsessed with breathing?? Pranayama, the breathing exercises we practice in class, is all about moving prana. When you can steady your breath, or prana flow, you can steady your entire life.

Let’s break it down 🤓

Prana is the energy that fuels and moves all of life. It’s forward motion, the force that ensures things will always change and never return exactly to how they were.

When you inhale, you feel this prana entering you, fueling every cell with oxygen created in the world around you. The same prana that draws in the oxygen delivers it to your cells, trades it for carbon dioxide, and sends it back out on your exhale.

It’s the same prana that fuels the exchange of carbon dioxide back to oxygen in plants, that pushes and pulls the wind through the trees, that calls snowmelt from the mountaintops down the valleys and into the ocean.

Yoga is the practice of becoming an active participant in this exchange. It teaches us to direct energy so our lives become purposeful and meaningful. We stop being bystanders and become co-creators.

The next time you see pine needles swaying in the breeze or water bubbling down a creek, remember: this same prana moves through you. With steady awareness, you can guide it in ways that nourish and enhance your life.

This workshop is based Ayurveda, a holistic health system that is yoga’s sister science.

You will walk away with greater self understanding and the ability to immediately use simple, but life changing tools.

What’s included:
- Both theory and practices
- Easy ways to improve your digestion, including your mental and emotional digestion
- Discover your personal constitution, signs of imbalance, and simple ways to bring yourself back into balance
- Learn how to positively impact your health through many avenues such as food type, temperature and timing, wake and sleep time, types of physical activity, environment, aromatherapy, breathing, and more

Things that don’t vibe with the ethos of Anaconda Yoga mostly have to do with common misconceptions and hustle-culture intrusions.

Yoga, after all, is about Union—the integration of our inner and outer worlds. It’s the practice of listening inward while living outward. Of noticing the “shoulds” and “have tos” that the world hands us—and honoring what our inner world is actually asking for.

That’s what Anaconda Yoga is for: to bring more awareness to the inner world and where you’re at, exactly as you are, today.

Come as you are. That’s the whole point.

It’s a mantra often shared at the end of yoga practice—but it’s not just a pretty phrase. It’s a reminder that our personal peace ripples outward.

Join us for ✨Yoga for Women✨, a free, gentle yoga class designed to support women’s health through all stages of life.

Sponsored by the (CHA), this class offers a safe and supportive space to reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and build strength from the inside out.

Together, we’ll explore breath-centered movement, stress relief techniques, and poses that support hormonal balance, pelvic floor health, and overall well-being. Whether you’re navigating menstruation, menopause, motherhood—or simply seeking a moment to care for yourself—this class is for you.

Open to all women and those who identify as women. No previous yoga experience is needed. Mats and props provided.

These classes are every Wednesday in August at 5 p.m. and located at Anaconda Yoga.
