Veteran Owned Family Business
AwesomeSomething opened it’s doors on August 1st, 2015. As a veteran owned business run by a Mother-Daughter duo, we are a rare gem in the game store business, and we offer things you don’t find at most game stores.
We’re not just a game store, we are a part of the community. We created a place where "geeks" of all ages can play games, build social skills, and make new friends. We spend time getting to know everyone who walks through our door, making them feel welcome and appreciated.
Kayleigh is a Navy Veteran who served for 7 years. She was stationed on NAS Whidbey Island for her last command, and she loved it so much here that she decided to stay and open a business. She is the Pokemon Professor for AwesomeSomething and enjoys teaching new players how to play Pokemon and Magic: the Gathering. She also organizes a yearly 24 hour Game-A-Thon at AwesomeSomething to raise money for the Seattle Children's Hospital.
Lani is a mother, caregiver, artist, and experienced retail merchandiser. Lani is a mother of two "geeks" who love to play games with her, and often takes the role of "Shop Mom" to the regulars. She teaches Magic to new players, runs the Dungeons & Dragons League, and loves teaching new players how to become adventurers!
