RE: Processing the ERFA 2025 Applications

In accordance with the requirements set forth by the finance departments and our auditing team, it is imperative that the necessary documentation accompanies all applications; failure to provide such documentation will result in the application not being processed.

The required documentation includes:
1. A copy of the Enrolled Kiowa Tribe Members card(s) or Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB).
2. Supporting documents that demonstrate need, which may include a copy of a utility bill, medical bill, rent/lease paper, or mortgage statement.
3. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - Photo of the card displaying the tribal member's name and/or screenshot of the Tribal member's SNAP app with the name on it.
4. For those affected by federal furloughs, furlough documentation includes the name of the Kiowa Tribal member.
5. Individuals experiencing homelessness must provide a written statement signed and dated.
6. In cases of domestic violence, a copy of the Protective Order must be included.
7. A completed application for the Emergency Relief Funding Assistance (ERFA) 2025.

The Social Services department will contact the applicant if any documentation is outstanding.

This requirement originates from our Finance Department, which will not process any payments for ERFA 2025 applications that lack the requisite documentation.

Join us and Kiowa Education Agency Department of Higher Education, The Kiowa Tribe, Kiowa Language Department, Kiowa Tribe Prevention Network, and other tribal departments to honor Native American Heritage Month in November. We will be celebrating our culture, language, resilience, and identity through community events, teachings, and gatherings all month long.

Virtual participation will be available for most events!

This week, members of our Kiowa Alcohol & Drug Addiction Program (KADAP) and Tribal Opioid Response (TOR) Team are attending the ODAPCA Fall Conference to strengthen our knowledge, expand our professional network, and bring back new tools to support healing within our Kiowa communities.

We are proud to represent the Kiowa Tribe among other Oklahoma behavioral health professionals. The sessions we are attending focus on:
• Healing from addiction with dignity and cultural understanding
• Trauma-informed care practices
• Strengthening recovery pathways
• Community-based prevention strategies
• Supporting families through the healing journey

Our mission remains clear — to walk beside our people with compassion, cultural grounding, and respect. The learning we gain here will support stronger prevention, outreach, and recovery services for our tribal members.

Moving forward together.
