A tribute to Dee Zrinski

IN MEMORIUM
Deneane Zrinski
Oct 24, 1964 - Feb 3, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deneane "Dee" Zrinski on February 3rd, 2025. I expect that every person reading this knows Dee and has personally worked with her over the years. To say that Dee was synonymous with Melrose Abbey is an understatement; she has been a constant support and endless resource to the location and the many families we've served for the better part of two decades. Her dedication and commitment were truly exceptional, and her presence will be deeply missed.

To those that knew her personally, Dee had a profound devotion to her family. Pictures of her brothers and nephews adorned her workspace, and she shared many stories of her nephews' service in the military and their growth in the community. Her love for them was evident in every word, and they were a constant source of pride and joy for her.

For most of her adult life, Dee was dedicated to serving others. Whether as a nurse's assistant, in administration, as a Family Service Counselor here at Melrose Abbey, or as a wife, she consistently put the needs of others before her own. Her compassionate nature shone brightly in every role she held. At Melrose Abbey, Dee's warm smile, empathetic ear, and unwavering support provided comfort and guidance to countless families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, offering a sense of calm and understanding that was invaluable. Her knowledge of the funeral industry was extensive, and she was always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that every detail was handled with care and professionalism. Dee's contributions to Melrose Abbey, and more importantly, to the families we serve, are immeasurable. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication that will long be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

A memorial service is scheduled for Dee on Saturday, March 8th at 10:00am. For more information or to attend the Live Stream of the service, visit our website at www.melroseabbeyfh.com

Our Story

At the time Melrose Abbey was established in 1929, Orange County was completely covered by orange groves. The founders commissioned a Laguna Beach architect, Richard Haley, to create a unique mausoleum which would forever identify the Abbey. He selected the Melrose Abbey in Scotland as the building's model.

In the early days, the Abbey Chapel was used more for weddings than funerals. Many funeral services have been held in the chapel for people who were married in the Abbey Chapel earlier.

Over three-quarters of a century provides a heritage of business which will make any mortuary-cemetery a success.

Management of Melrose Abbey was stable from its beginning up to the middle of the 1960s, when the founders passed management on to new owners. When the present owners took over in 2008, they not only had the original vision, but are committed to the heritage of Melrose Abbey. One of the original visions is to provide the community with a beautiful and lasting tribute to honor their loved ones.
