"Yeah. I'm standing outside on a fall day again. It's cold out where I am and I so could use a hot pumpkin latte right now, but I have serious work to do. So here goes. My name is Liza and I am DMC's "donation ambassador." If you follow our pages, you know I've asked you to participate in a myriad of fundraisers holding this white donation box. The point? It isn't as obvious as you may believe. I'm not just a generic face here - I also represent those who smile who have much more behind said smile....those who are not represented - people who are your neighbors, colleagues, friends, and even the person at your local grocery store who smiles like I do - invisible disabilities exist everywhere. Each time you blaze past my post on social neglecting to recognize me - you do so to people you may actually know or don't know. - let me allow DMC to explain.

DMC serves an extremely diverse community of people of all ages, all multicultural backgrounds, identities, and our community is growing. We'd like to bring your attention to the fact that behind the smile could be a person with invisible disabilities. Chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, learning disorders, panic attacks, and Long COVID. DMC serves people with both visible and invisible disabilities - did you know that? From people fearful to take the bus, to those in a housing crisis or safety situation, people born with or acquired disabilities through aging, accident or illness- Our fundraising efforts are designed to support all of our growth initiatives to be able to serve a diverse landscape of people with disabilities, older adults and Veterans.

Donate today https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZGDDYL7MLHKHN to help DMC grow to serve all people who belong to our community. We thank you for your support!

If you are a person with disabilities or an older adult, Assistive Technology is your personalized gateway to have independence and access to live and thrive and stay connected, perform work as well as socialize.

It's time to bring DFCI to your community! DMC's Disability Friendly Community Initiative (DFCI) is important for members of our community to feel recognized.

What does it mean to be inclusive? Our community of people with both visible and invisible disabilities has more layers than most people realize as every person's lived experiences is different - and that includes people with the same disabilities. Age demographics of youth, young adults, older adults, Veterans, different ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural, generational and varied backgrounds and identities are layers of lenses DMC aims to educate for a more inclusive community.
