Wowee! January is flying by! We're truly blazing through the first month of the year. DMC is excited about what new things we can accomplish as a community in 2026, but we are going to need extra support after 20,000 new individuals have joined our community since the holidays due to aging, accident, injury, and illness. and more people have moved our direction.

While we are very excited to meet our new community members and happy to be of service, it is very clear that we do need to think about serving in the present as meeting fast-growing population with each passing day/week/month.

For many of you, getting through the week is all about waiting for the weekend. For us at DMC, it is all about waiting for the next avalanche of consumers pushing the need for us to fundraise even more to meet said demand.

We don't need to remind you that THIS IS TAX SEASON - so we would appreciate it if you made your tax-deductible donation today: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZGDDYL7MLHKHN.

DMC also kindly requests that you also please share the following:

With the New Year underway - it's time to look at the work to be done and your passion for being of service helping others. DMC has a number of open roles and one of them where you can make the most impact is in our housing program. A place to call home is a challenge for many in Southern California as we address the homelessness crisis as an Independent Living Center. This time last year, it was recorded there were 7,322 people in OC who were homeless and that number has grown exponentially with those displaced with California wildfires.

Our highest in-demand program is in critical need of a solution-oriented individual committed to maintaining a minimum of 25 active CalAIM consumers with the ability to multitask, provide support and housing options to a fast-growing community in need.

Do you possess action-oriented self-driven initiative?

Are you resourceful, and able to serve high-volume demands with grace under pressure?

Do you consider yourself unflappable, with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and have a sense of urgency in your productivity?

Are you able to take ownership of your responsibilities to execute an efficient pipeline without prompting to stay focused and on-task?

Do have a strong track record of being detail-oriented with follow-through?

Is community outreach in your wheelhouse and are you able to maintain strong relationships with shelter operators?

Do you possess a wide breadth of various housing options and related legislation?

Are you an advocate for people with disabilities and older adults to have equity in being housed?

If this sounds like you, check out our Housing Coordinator opportunity and apply.

It may be the first quarter of 2026 - but as a non-profit, we're always looking to change the game in raising funds when we're at first and ten. We want to keep the ball moving in the right direction to meet our fundraising goals and score the touchdown we need in ensuring we can provide services to meet a constantly growing demand of community members needing our help.
