Hey there, Happy Friday! What an Earth Day Week! Actually, sustainability for our planet is more than just the planet - it is also about the people and as a people-first organization, DMC wants to remind our community that sustainability for our program services, growth and outreach matter!

Every single one of us is aging every day. What does that mean? We're one day closer to needing DMC's services - which is inevitable - we all will need DMC at some point. So why not make your tax-deductible donation today in the name of your time left on Earth - and help us grow now so we'll be ready for you?!

Go green and help us grow our donations: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZGDDYL7MLHKHN

We thank you for your support!

Attn: DOR Counselors! Training + Access = Independence.

We know how important it is for our community of people with disabilities and older adults to have this. We understand the freedom and confidence Assistive Technology (AT) devices can make to create bridges where there once was none.

Creating access through training means providing equity for an individual to live the life they choose.

Are you ready to work ahead to stay ahead of all of the changes and what that means in servicing consumers? Technology never stays the same - so neither should we.

DMC is vendorized! Let's work together to to create more access!

Introducing ourselves and our VIP program services to newly relocated Veterans excites us. Our flyer (in both English and Spanish) - helps spread the word about what we do and how we help.

We want to thank those of you who have helped us distribute this flyer:
https://daylemc.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Veterans-Independence-Program-1.pdf

DMC is recognizing the demand as the grand total number of Veterans in Southern California is now 500,884 as a total region. That's a lot of Veterans!

Share our flyer above and check out our VIP webpage to help us serve those who have served: https://daylemc.org/veterans-independence-program/

We appreciate all service personnel who have served and look forward to serving as many Veterans as we can!

"Ooh I love to learn!" Imagine yourself saying these words as you learn from DMC.

DMC has spent decades educating, training, providing tools, resources, information and providing knowledge as a peer-led organization as OC's ONLY Independent Living Center for people with disabilities, older adults and Veterans.

Learning is a life-long process. Disability etiquette training can help you, your business, your agency or city and community rise to meet the next level of growth for our disability and aging community can be supported best with disability etiquette training.

If you are a government agency, a city chamber, a business (small, medium or large corporation), an association or non-profit, or an educational institution, chances are you haven't fully kept up with disability etiquette to meet our community which is doubling in size.

As our population expands, so does the need to remember that being inclusive matters. How we communicate and relate to provide access and independence becomes more important.

Don't let your lack of knowledge become its own barrier to connecting to a diverse and expansive community which is growing every day.

Let DMC help you....

Expand your knowledge base

Become more inclusive.

Learn about respectful language

Understand the difference between helping and hindering

Grow your comprehension of the difference in relating to people with visible and invisible disabilities

Learn what access and independence truly means to our community and why it matters.

What difference does caregiving make?

* You provide support where it is needed.
* You give a person hope, dignity and respect.
* You make a huge difference in more ways than you know.
* You assist someone with living life in their own home.

In turn - Fulfillment, impact, connection and meaningful purpose finds your heart as a caregiver.

Caregiving is truly a reciprocal journey for both the person receiving care and the person giving care - because at the end of the day, what we do with our time actually matters in how we show up and that is what we'll be remembered for.

Our DMC PAS Team is actively recruiting caregivers who truly want to make a difference and care about our consumers who need support.

In-home support is key to have independence, access, and simple needs met through care giving, housekeeping or daily activities. It is through care giving YOU can change someone's life!

We are actively recruiting now for skilled caregivers who possess patience, gentleness, warmth, and a supportive solution mind-set ready to be an earth angel. Do you know someone who is looking to be a caregiver or has been one and is looking for work?

If you, or someone you know is interested in making a huge difference for Orange County's fast-growing community in need and you're ready to change a life and also change your own for the better - check out our flyers below:
