Top Notch Newborn Care In-home overnight newborn support allows parents to maximize rest and learn hands-on. Hi, I'm Cassie! I'm the mom of two fun and sweet boys, CJ and Carter.

With a focus on providing education along with emotional and physical support to families expecting new babies, clients praise the confidence they gain from my guidance. I've been married to my amazing husband since 2010. And I am a Postpartum Doula, Certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), and New Parent Educator based in Orange County, California serving families in Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside Counties. I am so passionate about the work that I do with each family. Whether it's helping a new mom establish her milk supply, cuddling a new baby through the night so parents can get some much-needed rest, teaching first-time parents how to bathe their baby, or helping a seasoned parent work on a solid schedule to ensure harmony for their family, I am honored to be supporting them! I consider this intimate work such a joy, most nights, I really can't believe this is my job!

Yesterday I shared in class, something that brought me joy in those early postpartum months of juggling life with a toddler and newborn: sitting outside under the shade of our backyard tree. 🌳

Although it was a hassle, and oftentimes led to water or mud play for my toddler, it brought us both so much joy to just get out of the house - even if we didn’t actually go anywhere. And baby got to nap in the fresh air and sunshine! ☀️

So this was us a large majority of Summer 2019: picnics and water play and shady snoozes and sometimes an afternoon glass of Sauv Blanc. 🥂

Did you know that choking is especially common in young children? In fact, choking is the leading cause of death for infants under 1 year old. And it’s the fourth leading cause of death among preschool children? Scary right? 😲

Choking occurs when the airway becomes either partially or completely blocked by a foreign object, such as a piece of food or a small toy. In a Center for Disease Control review of nonfatal choking episodes in children that were treated in the emergency department, the most common items were coins and balloons. 🪙🎈

BUT there’s something you can do as a parent or caregiver to help lower the risks and respond in the event of emergency: get educated! 🫵🏻

Are you unsure about the proper way to respond in the event of a choking emergency for your infant, toddler or child? ‼️
