🔥This is the time of year when burnout is high, both from seasonal warmth + long days and the general rise of activities happening throughout summertime. As equinox approaches, we can aim for balance of Fire + Air + Ether elements in our yoga practice and our lifestyle routines.
🌀This late Summer and early Fall themed yoga classes will prioritize nurturing our nervous systems, soothing our minds with asana + breathwork, and finding our own rhythm to stay in equanimity.
The next session for Late Summer + Early Fall starts next week.

Here it is, nearly the end of 2017, and I found myself reflecting on this journey from 4 beautiful, memorable years teaching at Sutras Yoga Studio. I feel so much gratitude to be able to share and hold space for our community to move their bodies, breathe deeply, connect, hug, sweat, heal, and laugh together. Here is a little story about our origin:
This studio space was first created by Kelley Litle and was known as The Zen House in 2013. In early 2014, complications from owning two businesses encouraged Kelley to reach out to re-create the space as a co-op, to be managed by several yoga instructors. It turned out only two instructors were excited to take on the mission! So, in March 2014, Sutras Yoga Studio was born through the hearts of Maleese Warner and Emily McConnell. We started with the simple intention to continue holding space for this community to practice yoga and other healing, mind-body modalities. Just as our lives shift and change, the studio has transitioned along with us. Now, Maleese has moved out of the area, but Emily continues to work with the Sutras mission. When we hold space for others, there is no greater gift than seeing what that space can do for them.
Here in almost 2018, we continue to love sharing yoga with our community and watching them grow! We have expanded by adding more classes, new and guest teachers, and in-depth workshops, and we’re always meeting new faces. I am so grateful for the journey so far, and am looking forward to - but patiently present - as the bright future unfolds before us.
