The outbreak of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) has been a difficult time for everyone in our community. We want to share with our patients, their families, and our community the hope you are all staying safe and well. We also want to take this opportunity to share some important information with you.

At Glacier Bay Medical and Diabetes Care Center, we continue to follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Alaska State Health and Social Services to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These measures help to protect you, our patients, families, visitors and staff. We have also implemented telehealth in some circumstances; but may still need to see some patients in our office.

If you are scheduled to be seen in the office, or need to schedule an appointment, please know that we are working hard to ensure a clean and safe space. Our appointments will be scheduled with a time period between patients in order to allow for social/physical distancing of patients in the waiting room.

We are accepting new patients and will be open to see patients via telehealth, or in the office Monday through Thursday with modified hours and by appointment only. Please call our office with questions or to schedule an appointment at 907-302-5750.

We would also like to remind you to follow safe health practices such as frequent hand washing, wearing face masks in public and maintaining a 6-foot social/physical distance from those that you do not live with.

As a reminder, if you are experiencing an emergency (shortness of breath, chest pain, etc.), DO NOT leave a message or wait for a call back; please dial 911 or go to the emergency room.

To our Friends, Family, Patients and Acquaintances, we hope that everyone is well and following all the guidelines as recommend by the CDC while taking precautions for COVID 19. If you feel unwell though or if you are feeling sick or need assistance with your diabetes care, we will be seeing patients who absolutely need to be seen in the office and for others, utilizing telemedicine during this time. Our goal is to adhere to CDC guidelines, to ensure patient safety and wellness when visiting our office. If needed, all visits will be by appointment only and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Please feel free to reach out to us at the office at 907-302-5750. We are happy to help our community anyway we can.
