Well, this is a bit belated, BUT...
We want to recognize the excellent work our crew does in the clinic AND in their free time.

Dr. Emily Mehlman, Amanda Beck, and Dr. Tes Mutton joined another Alaska Rural Veterinary Outreach, Inc. trip to volunteer with spays and neuters, vaccines and addressing minor health concerns in our communities that do not have full-time veterinary access (this time, it was Glen Allen). These trips require excellent team work, creative solutions, and long hours, but reward the team with feelings of great satisfaction and connection. We highly recommend supporting Alaska Rural Veterinary Outreach, Inc. in any way you can. It is a great crew and we always enjoy working with them!

Additionally, we had another successful Backcountry First Aid Class! This one sold out in record time (just 1 hour!!!). We appreciate Dr. Emily Mehlman and technician Summer Sweet (and her dog, Ragnar!) for volunteering their time to help with this community outreach.

We are so grateful for the passion and commitment they bring each and every day. ❤️

📣 Important (and belated!) announcement!

We’re excited to officially welcome Dr. Sara Zimmerman to our growing team! After graduating from Washington State University, where she developed a strong passion for emergency medicine, Dr. Zimmerman made the move to Alaska in 2023—and has fully embraced everything the Alaskan lifestyle has to offer.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, skijoring, traveling, and training her own team of dogs for sport. At work, she enjoys the variety of challenges and cases that every day brings. We’re thrilled to have her energy, compassion, and enthusiasm as part of the Anchorage Vet Clinic family!

Additionally—thanks to our expanding team, we’ll soon be extending our Thursday and Friday hours later this month, with Saturday hours coming in May. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your pets with even greater availability!
