It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Local Greens Farms as of August 18th. We want to express our deepest gratitude for the support and trust you’ve placed in us over the past four years. Bringing sustainable, year-round produce to your homes has been our greatest joy.

For our subscribers, all subscriptions have been canceled, and your last pickup is now available.

Sustainability and food security are vital issues for Alaskans, and while this chapter is coming to an end, we remain committed to these causes. We are actively seeking a new Alaskan home for our hydroponic farms, and we will keep you updated as those efforts progress.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you, and for being a part of our journey. The friendships we’ve formed and the communities we’ve touched have been invaluable. It has truly been a pleasure to grow with you.

Starter Kits have arrived!!

New this year, we are offering starter kits!!

As much as we love growing yummy veggies for you all, we want you to be able to grow them on your own too!

We will be offering starter kits for $10. In each kit you will get 10 plants that are all ready to be planted in your garden. Just put them in some soil and off you go!!

Pictured above we have a kit that contains:

Swiss Chard
Kale
Basil
Red fire lettuce
Little Gem Butter lettuce
Green star lettuce

We will be offering other varieties as well. Varieties like mint, cilantro, rosemary, cabbage, catnip, dill, and a few others.

Let us know what else you would like to see in your starter kit and we. Will get it started for ya!!

These will be available prepackaged for pick up at as well as by personal request.

We’re growing more and more varieties everyday!!! Warmer weather and sunshine is here and it’s just going to keep getting better and better! We are excited for all of the fun warm weather activities that are on the way!!

Farmers markets, outdoor gardens, playing outside in the sun! We’ve got a lot of new stuff coming up for the warm weather.

We love growing stuff but we also want to see you all grow stuff for your families as well!! More details to follow but we are currently working on growing and selling garden starter kits!! (Last slide).

Our garden starter kits aren’t quite ready but we’re planning on offering plants like: Kale, Basil, Swiss Chard, Arugula, Mint, Dill and a few more!! Let us know what you would like to see in your starter kits!! We are open to all ideas!! We are very excited to share it all with you. Stay tuned for more updates to follow and thanks again for your support throughout the year!! We can’t do this without you!!

Dear valued subscribers and customers. We apologize we will not have greens this week. We are currently working on re-optimizing our systems for a better future production after our climate control issues. We will be back better than ever next week.

We also want to take the time and say thank you to all who have been supporting us through this journey. It’s taken us a little while to figure out our climate control issues and get back to producing consistently again. We are so thankful for all of your patience. We’ve been working hard to produce for you all under less than ideal conditions and we really couldn’t have done this without all of you!! Thank you all for believing in us and thank you all for your support!! Now it’s time for us to get to work and provide a healthy/fresh alternative to that barge lettuce!! Time to get that green train rollin!!

Greens Update:

We are currently only offering Salad Mix along with Kale. We are working to bring more varieties back. In the next two weeks we will have spicy mix back along with basil!! We are very excited to be back growing greens again!!

We are currently looking at bringing some new varieties into the farm.

What are some varieties you all would like us to offer? What kind of greens do you need for recipes? What greens do you love!?
