Holding off on the COVID-19 vaccination because of anxiety about needles/injections?

You're not alone. Anxiety about injections can range from "a little but I'll push through" to "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!" One research study found that out of 100 people, up to 4 can have a diagnosable phobia of needles (the ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!) (Wani, A.L., et al, Behavioural Neurology, 2014).

It can be tough to feel like you're stuck between doing something that causes a ton of fear (getting a shot)...and possibly not being protected from the virus.

When you think of self-care, what's the mental image that comes to your mind? Chances are, that picture may not be when you are at work. Often, when we think of self-care, we think of things we do outside of work...go for a ski...take a bubble bath.... Frequently, we work hard...and then try to find time to take care of ourselves.

If you are working from home, or at the office, it may be helpful to consider weaving moments of self-care throughout the day so that it's part of the daily routine, rather than what we do when we are exhausted.

The wellness app, Calm, offers these suggestions related to self-care at work:
Have walking meetings
Encourage people to log off (work/life balance ring a bell?)
Discourage eating lunch at the computer
Build pauses into the workday
