On August 23, members of ANTHC’s Cardiology department participated in the 16-mile Lost Lake Breath of Life Run out of Seward. The run is a fundraiser for those living with Cystic Fibrosis in Alaska.

The event motivated the team to exercise their bodies every day to prepare for the race and focus on the importance of heart health. Regular physical activity is one of the most powerful tools to keep your heart strong, whether it is walking, running, biking, hiking, or getting outside and participating in traditional activities, like berry picking. These activities offer both physical and mental health benefits.

The team of eight included Taylor Deal, Conor Deal, Bradley Hudson, Mandy Meyer, Kara Pichler, Matthew Schnellbaecher, Do So, and Maura Walsh. Trail conditions were perfect, and everyone enjoyed a bluebird day!

The team hopes to inspire others to take their first step towards a heart-healthy routine. Find something you enjoy, start small, and make time to move. Your heart will thank you!
