In response to the cancellation of this year’s ACSM Annual Meeting and World Congresses, the Program Committee introduces the ACSM 2020 Virtual Experience, which will be available beginning June 17. The Virtual Experience will deliver select content featuring the excellent presenters annual meeting attendees have come to expect.

All content will be free. A modest processing fee will be charged for CEC and CME. Some content will be exclusively available to current ACSM members.

In response to the cancellation of this year’s ACSM Annual Meeting and World Congresses, the Program Committee released new information regarding the delivery of content planned for this year’s meeting. ACSM remains committed to providing value to members and attendees by meeting their educational needs despite the need to cancel.

ACSM Cancels 2020 International Health and Fitness Summit

The member leadership of the American College of Sports Medicine has announced the cancellation of its 2020 International Health and Fitness Summit scheduled for March 12-15, 2020 in Atlanta Georgia. The decision, which was made with the approval of the summit Program Committee, was made based on the rapidly increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the associated transmittal within and across communities.

Save the date for the next ACSM Brown Bag in Science webinar, "Navigating Performance Nutrition in Elite Collegiate Athletics during the Postseason."

Nancy Rodriguez, Ph.D., R.D., FACSM, will be discussing fueling for collegiate competition during the postseason. What does the science tell us about preparing for competition and recovery within the context of tournament play? How well does this correspond with practical considerations such as playing several intense games over multiple days, many of which require travel and effort to access usual or preferred foods? Dr. Rodriguez will provide interesting examples and insights from her work with the UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams regarding how a sport nutritionist balances science and application.
