Meet Gabie Platon, our new Aesthetic Injector! 💉✨

Born and raised in Anchorage, Gabie brings a unique blend of experience in both medical aesthetics and inpatient pediatrics — and she’s all about helping people feel like the most confident version of themselves.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll probably find her trying new food spots, sneaking a friend’s dog out for a hike, or deep in a Taylor Swift discussion (yes, she’s a proud Swiftie).

We’re so excited to have her on the team. 💜 Say hi below!

Yeast infections are more common this time of year for a few very real reasons:

1. Heat + humidity create the perfect environment for yeast to overgrow
2. Tight clothes and damp swimsuits trap moisture and warmth
3. Scented soaps, wipes, or sprays can disrupt your natural pH
4. More sweating and movement = more friction and irritation
5. Hormonal shifts and antibiotics can make your body more prone

Things like changing out of wet clothes quickly, wearing breathable cotton underwear, avoiding scented products, and staying hydrated can make a difference. And if symptoms keep coming back, come see us!

“Nap when the baby naps.”

Sure. Right after I check the monitor 14 times, Google ‘normal baby breathing,’ and convince myself the silence isn’t suspicious. 😅

Self-care looks a little different these days.

It might be a quick jog with the stroller.
A deep breath between naps.
Or just drinking your coffee while it’s still hot (probably lukewarm by the time you get to it).

It might feel small, but it keeps you going.

What’s one small thing you’ve done lately that helped you feel like yourself again? 💪

Craving seafood while pregnant? You don’t have to skip the shrimp cocktail (just maybe skip the cocktail part 😉).

Seafood can be a smart, nourishing choice in pregnancy because it's packed with protein, iron, and those brain-boosting Omega-3s your baby needs.

Here’s what’s safe (and delicious):
☑️ Alaskan salmon, trout, sardines, shrimp, tilapia, cod, canned light tuna — just to name a few.
🚫 Just go easy on high-mercury picks like albacore tuna or halibut over 44 lbs.

Make sure it’s fully cooked and talk to your provider if you have questions.

When baby gives a little kick mid-appointment 😍

One of the sweetest parts of prenatal care? Getting to feel those tiny reminders that something amazing is growing.

Skipped your birth control pill and just remembered at… 9pm?
You’re not the only one.

But here’s the thing — even one missed pill can make your birth control less effective, especially if it happens early in your pack or more than once. It can also throw off your cycle and lead to unexpected spotting (or stress).

This is your reminder to:
✔ Take your pill (if you haven’t today)
✔ Set a phone reminder if it helps
✔ Ask questions. There’s no such thing as TMI here!

We talk a lot about birth control, pregnancy, and hormones — but not always how they affect your skin.

Certain medications, hormone shifts, and life stages (like pregnancy or menopause) can make your skin more reactive to the sun and more prone to things like burns, dark patches, or long-term damage.

Swipe to learn what we’re watching for and how you can protect your skin.

There’s no shortage of poolside opinions when you’re pregnant.
But a lot of what’s out there isn’t actually true.

Here’s what we hear often:

“You shouldn’t swim while pregnant.”
Swimming is one of the best low-impact exercises during pregnancy. It can ease swelling, reduce pressure, and help you feel lighter in your body.

“Chlorine can harm the baby.”
Normal levels of chlorine in well-maintained pools are considered safe. Your baby is protected by your body.

“Hot tubs are fine if it’s just for a few minutes.”
Even short exposure to high heat can raise your core temperature, which isn’t recommended. It’s best to avoid hot tubs unless cleared by your provider.

“You should avoid the pool in your third trimester.”
Unless your water has broken or your provider advises otherwise, swimming late in pregnancy is still safe and can be a huge relief for discomfort.

“Swimming can send you into labor.”
Swimming doesn’t cause labor. Movement in the water may feel different, but it won’t trigger labor unless your body is already ready for it.

Always check in with your provider if something feels off — but in most cases, the pool isn’t off limits. It might just be the break your body needs.
