Community Highlight: ANC Police and Fire's 4th Annual Race the Planes - August 24

Come out and race the planes alongside Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport with ANC Police and Fire! The event helps raise money for Alaskan cancer patients in need by supporting the American Cancer Society of Alaska’s programs and services, like free flights, rides and lodging for Alaskans requiring cancer treatment far from home. This year, the finish line BBQ is sponsored in memory of Avery Lindholm. Come join the fun for a great cause!

Community Highlight: Anchorage Running Club's Anchorage RunFest - August 16 & 17

Anchorage RunFest weekend has a race for everyone -- featuring a 49K Ultra, Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 5K, Anchorage Mile, and Kids 2K. Saturday's events are all about family fun and community connection! Join on August 16 for a free kids' race and fun activities, a community heat at the Anchorage Mile, and plenty of smiles — all in the heart of downtown Anchorage.

Community Highlight: The LeeShore Center's Kenai Peninsula 36th Violence Free Community Run - August 9

Join the Lee Shore Center for a fun, healthy community event that highlights resources available through their mission to promote healthy families and a violence-free community. The event includes both a 5K and 10K race. Bibs can be picked up the day before or the morning of. Registration fees cover a swag bag and event shirt. Any money raised, beyond the cost of hosting the Run, will go directly to client services.
