Something happened recently that I just have to share.

It might be one of the most exhilarating moments Iโ€™ve had since getting my new knees in December 2023.

While visiting with my son from Dallas, we went to Pt. Woronzof. And for the first time everโ€”I walked down the hill to the waterโ€ฆ and back up again!

I had never attempted that descent or climb before. Not once. But this trip I did it. The weather was beautiful, the planes were flying right overhead, and I felt alive and strong and free.

Itโ€™s hard to put into words how much that moment meant to me. But hereโ€™s what I know:
I wouldnโ€™t have had the stamina, balance, or confidence to do it without my regular workouts.

And I wouldnโ€™t have had the courage to try without the support of my 8:00 AM Functional Fitness Group.

This isnโ€™t just something I talk aboutโ€”I lived it yesterday.
And my son? He turned to me and said, โ€œMom, thereโ€™s no way you couldโ€™ve done that two years ago.โ€
And heโ€™s right. I was two years younger, but I wasnโ€™t in shape to do something like that.

But now I am.

Thatโ€™s the power of showing up. Thatโ€™s the gift of consistency. Thatโ€™s the magic of community.

Thank you to my 8:00 AM group galsโ€”you inspire me every single day.
And to everyone else reading this: keep showing up. Keep taking care of yourself. You never know when life is going to invite you into a moment like thisโ€”and you want to be ready.
