"Intimacy doesn't have to vanish like a sunset if you're living with Parkinson's." Our friends Judith Sachs, the founder of ANYONE CAN DANCE®, and Dr. Kelly Rees, a s*x therapist, are launching a new and exciting program for couples and dating singles living with Parkinson's. It's called Date Night and Intimacy: Reconnecting Parkinsons' Couples.

This is an online, four-week program that includes private sessions for each couple. Everyone is welcome, including young onset couples and LGBTQ singles and couples who may have trouble talking with their provider about sensitive subjects and want help. Ready to learn more? Friday was a perfect day for good food, good friends and good flowers to come together. Many thanks to the Henning’s for once again hosting the Garden Party which this year combined the Rock Steady family and our Anchorage Parkinson’s Support Group members.

"Peter has lots of information he is willing to share"~ Note on my first grade report card. I've been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease for over 20 years. Bought the postcards, wrote the blog, had the brain surgery. Consequently, I have tons of Parkinson's information which I shared with a PBS documentary crew for the film "Matter of Mind, My Parkinson's" They in turn will share it with the entire country this coming Monday, April 8 on the documentary series "Independent Lens" The film follows three patients and their families as we struggle to maintain our identities and dignity in the face of a disease that wants to take them away. The movie airs on Alaska.Public Media, channel 7 at 10 pm. You can check your local listings for the broadcast wherever you live

I was able to preview this amazing documentary featuring our own Peter and Pam Dunlap-Shohl. For those of my friends who have asked me what is Parkinsons, this is the show to watch.

Three people—a political cartoonist, a mother turned boxing coach, and an optician—navigate their lives with resourcefulness and determination in the face of a degenerative illness, Parkinson’s disease.
