COVID-19 Update
Dear Patients, Friends and Colleagues,
Aspen Endodontics has been carefully monitoring all of the information coming from the Federal and State Governments, as well as the American Dental Association regarding the Coronavirus. All of these organizations have recommended no elective dental procedures over the next three weeks. Treatment of patients experiencing pain and/or swelling can still be provided so as to reduce the potential burden on our hospital emergency system.
The nature of our endodontic practice is to treat tooth infection which can result in acute symptoms such as pain and/or swelling. At this point in time our office will remain open, although this could change on a moments notice. We are restricting our procedures to those patients who are experiencing tooth pain and will reschedule any patients not demonstrating acute pain to a later date when the threat of Covid-19 transmission has lessened.
We have always demonstrated stringent infection control procedures but we have increased our infection management protocol as we continue to try and care for our patients. Our current changes include:
- Any patients that feel ill, or have had contact with family members that have shown symptoms (fever, cough, chills, and shortness of breath) will not be scheduled until the viral threat has passed.
-Any patients that have traveled internationally or to high risk areas within the United States within the last three weeks, will not be scheduled until the viral threat has passed.
-We are requesting that patients come into the office alone to reduce contact in the reception area. This is a very small office that sees only one patient at a time which means there will be a very small patient flow on any given day.
-Carrie, our receptionist, will check patients in on her computer. A signature is required using a stylus and iPad which are both throughly disinfected after each patient contact.
-Magazines will be removed from the reception area.
-The coffee and tea station will be unavailable to eliminate further surfaces for exposure.
-Office door handles are disinfected after each and every patient.
-An aerosol disinfectant is utilized in the patient reception area and in the dental operatory after each patient.
-Hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes are in the reception area for patient use.
-We request that all paperwork be completed through our patient portal before the scheduled appointment and we would be happy to email you any correspondence.
Our priorities remain with our patients and staff and we will do everything we can to ensure you are getting the same quality care we have always strived to provide you. Thank you so much for your understanding as we navigate these uncertain times. We look forward to resuming our normal atmosphere at the office as soon as possible!
Sincerely,
Dr. Sulte and the Aspen Endo Team ๐
