Today, alongside Presidents Day, we honor Elizabeth Peratrovich, the courageous Alaska Native leader whose advocacy led to the passage of the Alaska Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945 and helped shape a more just future for our state.
At Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska, we are proud to lift up Indigenous voices through our Indigenous Little Library, a free community resource featuring books for all ages. This Little Free Indigenous Library is one way we care for our communities, creating space for connection, reflection, and belonging as we honor our Elders, caregivers, and children, our Elders in training, supporting storytelling, lifelong learning, and brain health across generations as we walk the path of memory together.
